My Research ╰(・∇・╰)‧

I'm an early-career researcher who specialises in qualitative research methodologies. My list of current publications is small due to dedicating much of my post-graduation work life to pedagogy, but I'm working on changing that!

In particular, I'm keen to branch out from academia into the games industry. My expertise in ethnographic research methods, alongside my knowledge of Fan Studies, Games Studies, and other related disciplines, make me a great fit for a role in UX/User Research! I know that breaking into the games industry in 2026 is harder than ever, but... if you're reading this and you're hiring: take a chance on me, I promise you won't regret it! (✿´‿`)

Current Academic Interests:

Creative fan practices; emergent gameplay; streaming; cosy games; and the Pokémon Trading Card Game community.

Written Work:

Female Power Fantasy: Women & Resistance in Games & Gamer Culture (2022) In my doctoral thesis I used surveys and gaming interviews to investigate how female video game players navigate the gaming assemblage, ultimately illustrating the complicated ways in which many try to push back against a hobby that has historically been hostile to their inclusion.
