I completed my PhD in Media Studies in 2022, but have been lecturing since 2018. I have an Associate Fellowship in Creative Education, and am very good at my job. :) As a practitioner, I favour non-hierarchical pedagogy, and excel at making complex academic topics accessible for media theory newcomers. Current Role

• Part-time Games Studies Lecturer at Norwich University of the Arts, UK.
• Tasked with educating future game devs and artists on the importance of media literacy and theory, and providing them with the tools needed to think critically about the media they consume and create.
• Lecturer and seminar leader for First and Second-Year Undergraduates on Games Art & Design and Games Development courses.
• Responsible for crafting and constantly updating an accessible but robust Games Context Studies curriculum for First and Second-Year students.
• Facilitator in student workshops, 1-2-1s, and feedback sessions, prioritising pastoral, as well as academic, care.
• Extensive experience in marking student assessments.

Extracurricular Work

Educators Republic International Summer School 2025 Working alongside my colleague Scott Colverson, I supervised 12 Chinese students aged 15-19 working on a project on speculative design, resulting in a curated gallery of game design documents and short animated films after an intense two-week work period. My primary responsibilities were collaborating on the brief and acting as producer, coordinating between the Games and Animation team and the wider Summer School program. I also supervised student work, assisted in workshops, and offered guided feedback.

Artist Trading Card Workshops My interdisciplinary workshop on Artist Trading Cards educates attendees on the history of the medium, before allowing them to create and trade their own. Its goals are to remind attendees of the importance of art for the sake of art, outside of the demands of the curriculum, workforce, or 'canon'. When I ran this workshop in November 2025, it was attended by over 30 students and received incredibly positive feedback. I hope to run this workshop again - just as soon as I've replenished my supplies!
